A Fresh New Look is Coming to Blackheath Hair & Co! We’re excited to share some news: Blackheath Hair & Co is getting a makeover! After more than ten years of welcoming you through our doors, our beloved salon is due a well-deserved spruce-up. We’ll be closing from 4th–12th August (hopefully just the one week!) while we refresh the space and give it a whole new lease of life. Thank you for your patience We know a week without your usual appointments might be an adjustment, so we really appreciate your understanding. This refurbishment is all about making your experience with us even better and we genuinely can’t wait to show you the results. See you on the other side!

👶✨We have some incredibly special news to share with you! Our lovely Emily is preparing for her biggest adventure yet she is going on maternity leave to welcome her new bundle of joy, Baby Gill! 🍼

Before she heads off, we want to share all the details about her upcoming leave, how we will take care of your hair while she is away, and her plans for returning.

Emily’s Dates & Maternity Plans

• Last Day in Salon: Friday 18th July 2026 (Unless Baby Gill decides to make an early appearance!)

• Return Date: Mid-June 2027

• Keeping-in-Touch Days: Once Emily is settled, she plans to do one “Keeping-in-Touch” day per month. These will be announced well in advance for anyone wanting a priority slot!

• The New Routine: When Emily returns permanently in June 2027, she will be working a three-day week to maintain a work and family life balance.

I used to go to another popular salon in the neighborhood. They always messed up my hair completely. I'm talking about the money piece being bigger on the one side, the colour being barely different to my natural when I asked for a much more dramatic change, you get the point. I had tried everyone, from their highest paid stylist to the most junior. They were completely ignoring what I wanted.

I decided to stop paying 250£ for nothing and try out Danny because he looked like he actually listens to what you're saying to him. I knew I was right after he did my highlights for the first time. Completely different from the other salon. There's no comparison at all he's miles ahead.

I asked for my hair to be much lighter but also low maintenance which is almost impossible to do with my natural hair colour + the very small root tap I want.
I don't know how he was able to lighten my hair more than the others but also blended the roots perfectly. My hair looked like it was freshly bleached for at least 2 months after, no harsh lines, no weird yellowing no nothing.

Just excellent I have no other words. I'll never go anywhere else. In the photos you can see my hair 2 and 3 months after the highlights.

I absolutely love this salon and can’t recommend it enough. I usually come here for my own hair and always leave feeling so happy. Emily does my hair and she is amazing every single time. All of the staff are super friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which makes such a difference.

Recently, I booked my daughter in for her very first salon experience. Because she is neurodivergent and finds it hard to sit still, I wasn’t expecting a flawless cut. Helen completely exceeded my expectations. She was incredibly kind, calm, and patient, and somehow still managed to give the most flawless, even cut. My daughter’s hair looks amazing and I honestly can’t stop looking at it. She’s been getting so many compliments, which makes me so happy.

Myself and my mum got our hair dyed, cut and styled by Danny. This experience was one of the best we have had at a hair salon. Danny listened to what we wanted and did exactly that! My mum wanted a grey blending balayage which she has struggled to get at other hairdressers however, Danny delivered. My hair was also done gorgeously ! I recently had the Kerasilk Keratin Treatment done at Blackheath Hair & Co. Although I had a disappointing first result with the treatment, the salon was incredibly quick in getting in touch to do their best to try and rectify the outcome. I was booked in for the same treatment within a week, where the stylist tried a slightly different approach to achieve a better result with my hair. It’s too early to tell whether it’s worked, but if it doesn’t, it’s certainly not for a lack of trying on the salon’s side and if it does, then that would turn it to 5 stars for me for sure.

The stylist - Jess - was also super lovely both times and made the experience in the salon itself enjoyable, even following my initially disappointing feedback. Thank you to the team there and fingers crossed the smoothing results come through for me, too.

I submitted an enquiry via the website and was impressed that Kyla called me back the same day—even after the salon had closed—to discuss what I was looking for. I had a cut and colour consultation a few weeks ago and was really very happy. Came back today to have my first full, proper colour a full head of balayage again with Emily and I can honestly say it has been the best hair experience I have ever had. Having had my hair cut atrociously by the incompetence of Supercuts Lakeside mistakenly thinking an instant appointment was worth trying out when between stylists, then seeing when shopping they’d shut 1.5hrs early, thought of lovely Blackheath and looked up reviews. Helen had exceptional reviews and they weren’t wrong. The salon is superb with gorgeous decor and a relaxing feel. Helen’s very talented and Blackheath Hair & Co is where I shall be revisiting going forward. Highly recommended. Easy parking in the area. Well priced. Thank you! Xx

Nadia cut my 3 year old daughter's hair and a great job! She was completely happy throughout and Nadia even platted it in two french plaits afterwards which still looked just as good 3 days later when we took them out to wash it! I would highly recommend her if you're looking for a hairdresser for young children.

Danny cut and coloured my hair this week and he was an absolute star. I am thrilled with the transformation and the shade was perfect. He really listened to what I wanted and needed ( short low maintenance hair) and his suggestion to go lighter with less frequent pop ins to top up was so helpful. A wonderful experience. My stylist took the time to listen to me and provided great advice and kept me informed about what she was doing. I received an excellent head massage as I got my hair washed - it was incredibly relaxing. I was offered a drink and there was an entire menu to choose from. The decor and ambience are lovely. And, of course, my finished hairstyle was exactly what I was looking for - my hair is healthy and glossy again. Can't wait to come back.

Having been highly recommend to book in with Kelsey, I was and am absolutely delighted with how she did my cut and colour! Amazing attention to detail. Very very happy! Obsessed with this place. Emily, the stylist I picked is so kind and her work is incredible. They offer you free (really good) expresso drinks and the entire staff you can tell love their jobs. If you’re like me and get your fringe done, they will keep it up for you for free. Highly recommended.

I loved my first experience here from start to finish! The team are all extremely welcoming and my stylist, Nadia, took the time to listen to my preferences and long term hair goals. She completely understood my hair and my colour goals. I honestly couldn’t believe the difference in my hair after the colour, treatment, cut and blow dry. It looked so sleek, healthy and revived. I’ve already booked in again! The salon itself is beautifully presented, clean, modern and stylish. The team are extremely attentive and went the extra mile to ensure I was comfortable!

My appointment yesterday was a breath of fresh air. In the past I’ve had awful experiences where stylists at other salons did not listen and choose to do what they wanted to my hair. First time at this salon and will definitely be back. Nadia cut my hair and made the whole experience really pleasant and relaxing. She obviously enjoys hairdressing and took her time making sure I was perfectly happy with the cut. She listened, gave advice but didn't push me and gave me a great precision haircut. I'm extremel fussy and I left perfectly happy which hardly ever happens. I've been to about 20 different salons in Londons and this compared favorably to one in Marylebone where I paid about double the price of this cut. Recommended. (Long hair, had a trim, long layers and straight fringe.)

I'm not a huge fan of getting my hair cut (probably a result of being dragged along to my mum's appointments as a child), but I had an interview for a job I really wanted, so I thought I would splash out. My appointment was with Danny, who last cut my hair in 2018! He gave me a lovely, easy to maintain cut and he also washed my hair, which was so good it was more like a head massage! It wasn't cheap, but it was quality, and if you choose a hairdresser in Blackheath Village you expect to pay more. Best of all, I got the job, so it achieved the objective! I might not leave it 5 years in future...

My first visit to this salon and because of a recent injury I was in a wheelchair. I was overwhelmed by the kindness of the staff who made my visit as comfortable as possible. My hairdresser was Helen and I was equally overwhelmed by the great haircut she gave me. The cut was fantastic and retained the style after first wash with minimum effort. I am very happy with the service I received and will be making a return visit and definitely recommend Helen as a stylist.
